Aether Two cabin tent on a coastal ridge at dusk, solar roof and vestibule climate unit

Two-person solar climate shelter

Climate, packed.

An insulated cabin for two with a 360-watt solar fly, a 24-volt LiFePO₄ core, and a compressor that actually cools the night. Designed to split between two packs — car to camp, not a thru-hike.

The stack

Four parts. One climate.

Most “solar tents” are a nylon shell and a USB fan. Aether Two is a closed thermal loop: insulate, harvest, store, reject heat. Built for two adults in heat, not a festival afternoon.

Cabin

Double-skin climate envelope

240 × 210 cm floor, 195 cm peak. Reflective rainfly over an insulated inner (U ≈ 2.8 W/m²K) — about a third of the heat leak of a typical nylon tent. Standing room for two, queen-pad sleep, mesh at the door.

Fly array

360 W seamed into the roof

Three 120 W flexible mono panels live in the fly, not a separate blanket you have to aim. Optional 200 W ground blanket for low-sun days. MPPT on the core, 24-volt bus, no inverter in the cooling path.

Core

1.42 kWh LiFePO₄, 1.28 usable

A 24 V 60 Ah brick, 9.4 kg, 90% depth of discharge. Sized so a tropical night in Sleep mode finishes on the pack, and a clear day puts it back. Second brick optional.

Clime

3,200 BTU, 24 V compressor

Ducted condenser sits in the vestibule so heat and noise stay outside. ~280–420 W draw, COP ≈ 2.55. Quiet enough to sleep against — about 38 dB at the pillow. Not thermoelectric. Real cooling.

Clime

24 V rotary compressor in the vestibule. Condenser heat dumps outside. A short insulated duct feeds the inner tent. Pull the unit, and the shelter is still a normal tent.

Sleep deck

Two pads, or one queen.

Pack-out

Two people. Two bags.

Base kit is 31.4 kg before options. That is vehicle-to-site portable — split, not ultralight. Each adult takes one roll.

Specification

The sheet.

Aether Two is a design study, not a catalog SKU. The numbers are engineered from real 24 V compressors, LiFePO₄ pack density, and an insulated double-wall tent — honest about weight, honest about cooling.
